I was born in 1999, the cusp of a new era. I’m told the famous song by Prince played on an endless loop while the media and computer programmers prepped for Y2K. Google was founded just months earlier. It would be years before the world heard of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or Instagram. Yet I can barely remember a world without social media.

I, like many others, understand the world around us through headlines and 140 characters. How are we to make our mark if our voices are truncated? How are we to change the rhythm of the world today if we don’t have the whole story?

My mission is to tell those stories and more.
